St Leonard's lychgate St Leonard's on a bright morning
with low Autumn sun.


Left - the old lychgate entrance, where the vicar would await coffins under shelter. Such gates had central stands on which pall-bearers could rest a heavy coffin. These have disappeared now that burials take place at a local cemetery, as have the gates themselves.
